Word from the pastor, How is your foundation? We know to build anything you must first build a good foundation. A building of any type must have a good foundation. A business venture must start with a good foundation. A friendship must have a good foundation and a marriage must have a good foundation. So it is with God. A healthy relationship with God must start with a solid foundation. The 1st part of the foundation is to: believe Jesus is the Son of God and that God has raised Him from the dead; to publicly confess that you believe in Jesus and make Him Lord or (the 1st Authority in you life). (Romans 10: 9-10) This process is called being “Born again” (saved) Jesus said to Nicodemus “you must be born again”. John 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. In other words your spirit is renewed with the Holy spirit of God. Your spirit is born again. The 2nd part of a strong foundation is discipleship. That is to endeavor to renew your mind. Romans12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. We must discipline ourselves to renew our mind. That comes only by reading the word of God and hiding it in our heart. If you know anything about building then you know you must dig in the ground a deep trench to pour in the cement to make the foundation. The believing on Jesus and being born again is like digging the trench and the cement is like pouring in the word of God in to our spirits to form a strong foundation. All of the other building materials will ultimately be placed on top of the foundation. Things such as giving, worship, healing, caring, ministering, prayer, godly relationships (friendships, marriages and business). Everything you are as a Christian and every blessing we receive from God depends on that foundation. It is the most important aspect of your Christian life to maintain. So, I ask again how’s your foundation? I hope you are encouraged to re-inforce you foundation today.
